Wonderful things happening at Kaipaki, the steel is all in place, the concrete slab floor is solid, roof line able to cope with any snow falls that may befall a Kaipaki winter, the A frame where the clock will be in now obvious. I can see the roller about to come out to roll the pitch after another excellent Kaipaki bowling effort (all LBW from the same end) and the normal array of drop catches that provided the crowd of approximately 80 sitting on the terraces in the front of the stand and another 35 sitting on the strategically located seating around the banks with the expected amount of horror while gaining full advantage of this ever developing Village Green that is fast becoming more English than England.
As the above quote from a 2016 English cricket journal (Dec edition) will probably indicate, things are happening at Kaipaki and we must all play our part and do our little back for the ‘Club’. To play our part for a club that does such a lot for us, the following Working Bees have been organised.
· This coming Sunday 18th Sept @ 9 am there is a tidy up of the Pavilion site so all with trailers will be welcome. We will also be digging holes and putting in posts for the seats that the journal article refers to.
· Then another 2 Working Bees will held on Sunday 2nd Oct and Sunday 16th Oct 9 am start – bring paint brushes to paint the pickets, shovels to trim the nets and dig holes for more seats to be erected around the ground
Many thanks for your help, in anticipation – we need about 30 people each day to get the ground prepared for the summer
