Who - Kaipaki Senior C v Fraser Tech
When - 10/01/15
Where – Kaipaki Oval
Weather – Like playing on the surface of the sun…..
Yes you heard it here first, the mighty Senior C team managed to break a centuries old record at the hallowed Kaipaki Oval on Saturday afternoon.
No - it wasn’t the outstanding display of batting master class from Michael (Guppy) Clayton (119 retired – or should I re phrase that- knackered) or the 7 overs on the trot from debutant Kevin (Doc McStuffins) Bell.
The Record breaking achievement…………
EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THE TEAM DROPPED, SPILLED, OR SIMPLY BUMBLED A CATCH.
This feat also included a missed chance (sitter) from our substitute fielder Bratts, bringing the total number of incompetent plebs to 12.
You might have thought it ended there, but wait there’s more.
Messrs Kapadia (Taz & Musty), Stevens, Wijnstok & Armstrong put down 2 each.
This un-paralleled feat, to my knowledge, has never been achieved, or ever likely to be surpassed.
If Ebola had been floating around the grounds there was little chance of any of us catching that either.
Even some sexually transmitted diseases had rated Kaipaki as a no go area that afternoon, and that was with Dot Com around the ground. (he dropped one off my bowling)
What makes this record even more unique, it was accomplished without Donny or Nick Binnie playing. God knows what the tally would have been if they were out there.
Naturally this is an UN-OFFICIAL record as we are waiting for Wisdon to verify. Also I believe there has been an enquiry lodged with “Retards Anonymous” as to the state of mind of some of the players that particular day.
Oh yes, we smashed Frazer Tech by 106 runs – but apart from the two above - I’m not lowering myself to mention any standout performances.
Catching practice Thursday afternoon boys
Howard (I bowl Pies) Baker
PS – all of you who still have “out of office” message replies and are still on holiday soaking up the sun, get back to work, holidays are over.
