Kaipaki have secured legendary NZ sportspeople both past and present to take part in a debate this Friday night. The theme of the debate is “Sport Was better In My day” which puts Ken Rutherford, Grant Fox and Margaret Forsyth up against Casey Kopua, Peter McGlashan and Steven Bates. With 200 people expected Kaipaki are nearing a sell out and urging people that want to make a last minute decision and buy a seat or table to do so immediately.
The night is not all about the debate. A guitarist, actors and singers will be performing in front of the live audience. 14 of the Magic netball squad will be attending the event and they will distribute themselves around the many tables that have been purchased my Kaipaki enthusiasts.
The dinner is an opportunity for Kaipaki supporters to give back to the Kaipaki Centre. Kaipaki have a philosophy of not charging subs so there are no restrictions for people wanting to play community sport. It has been a successful model with the Kaipaki Centre being used most days by all types of community people. Proceeds from the dinner will go back into the maintenance of the Kaipaki Centre so people can continue to experience a magnificent atmosphere.
