What a great break it’s been, I’m sure chafe is running rampant
amongst us all after dodging salads for 3 weeks.
From now on the weekly email will be posted on www.kaipaki.com- I have posted the photos
of the Ngahinapouri game on there also by the way. Please visit this site as
it’s great exposure for our sponsors that contribute greatly to our facility and
give us all the opportunity to enjoy a great cricketing experience without
having to pay any fees etc.
We won the ‘Rashes Battle’ against Ngahinapouri before
Christmas…but anyone who was there will agree that cricket and mateship was
again the winner.
OUR TEAM is growing significantly and has got to the stage where we are
playing in 3 different venues this weekend. There’s the 1st bit of
the team - we’ll call this the ‘Green’ bit as players in this bit are
young, are inexperienced in many important things in life and also need to earn
their stripes as real decent young men of Kaipaki Cricket. The 2nd
bit of the team is the ‘Gold’ bit – called ‘gold’because if you ask many of the
players in this bit they will tell you they had‘golden’ careers and that
everything they hit or bowled back in the dayturned to ‘gold’.
Members of this bit of the team are often very humorous but will be remembered
for being the pioneers of the great Kaipaki Cricket revival. The 3rd
bit of the team is the ‘green and gold’ bit – a bit of the team full of complete
locals who have put in great time and effort to getting the Kaipaki facility
looking like what it does today and who live in the Kaipaki Geographical
border…(any bloke that lives in Kaipaki must have plenty of money so we expect
the plates at lunchtime to be taken to a whole new level!!). Our team photo is
going to be massive at the end of the year, but I’m sure JP will hire a
helicopter so the photographer can do an aerial shot.

Remember what we pride ourselves on:
Op Shop Blazers, the wearing of Whites, clapping the opposition captain in to bat,
clapping the opposition off the ground at the end of the game (as seen v
Ngahinapouri…it was awesome and we should continue it), being great hosts by
providing outstanding plates at home games…and of course very funny humour and
great great banter!
Yours in the heading down to buy some Vaseline to put on my inner thighs as my chafe
is killing me,
